It has become a ritual for Kainai Studies faculty and students to make a pilgrimage to Ninnaistako, Chief Mountain, at least once every summer. This is done as a three day, two night backcountry excursion, with a lot of spiritual significance for many of the participants. It teaches cooperation, collective action, endurance, perseverance, and a host of outdoor living skills
